| CKBC is...Athlete Success
Wes Hammer (Ridge) is the youngest paddler to ever win the Round Bowen Race (22 nautical miles). His time, 2:33.48, was the fastest in the seven year history of the race.
Other CKBC athletes with noteworthy results in the Round Bowen Race are:
- Ben Fast and John George (BCKC) 3rd overall and 1st double kayak (surf ski)
- Daryl Remmler and Jeff Raymond (BCKC) 10th overall and 3rd double kayak (sea kayak)
- Katja Rademacher and Micky McDonald (BCKC) 2nd mixed double kayak (sea kayak)
- Dennis Silverstone (Nanaimo) (surf ski)
