Recreational Paddling

You don’t have to be a competitive athlete to enjoy and explore whitewater. The many recreational clubs in BC offer non-competitive activities such as river running and playboating, trips and expeditions, freeboating and creekboating. In the Long Term Athlete Development model, recreational paddling serves as a base for the introduction of athletes at a young age to all of the various disciplines, and as a means for retired athletes or non-competitive paddlers to maintain lifelong fitness and health. It can involve any aspect of the competitive disciplines, in addition to non-competitive activities.
